All Hallows eve

My vigil lights for all saints eve..  Remembering all souls departed.
Today my parents were in my heart.. I think of them often . I will fill my home with flowers tomorrow.  Thinking of also dear friends and family . My candles will be lit all through the night. and tomorrow.

Hallows eve, has always been simple in our home. Remembering the dead and   Attending mass on 1st of november.

All saints Nov 1st
All soul's November 2..

Let peace and love into your heart. Light your candle and remember..all who have gone before us.  Its a day to celebrate the time they spent with us in our lives. The eve of the dead. They bring us goodness and somewhere within our thoughts , thinking of them . Peace will come upon us.
                                                                           Val

  9. Hello Val:
these are touching sentiments which we share. This is a time of year which is taken very seriously in Hungary too and we very much enjoy the time for quiet reflection that this gives.

Your arrangement looks wonderful and is a perfect way to remember those who have died and yet who will always be held close. We too shall light candles of remembrance.

  11. That was beautiful and very moving, Val... Tomorrow I shall be lighting candles, especially for my dear mum and dad. The beautiful thing is that it still feels like they are amongst us. Could this be what immortality is about... continuing to be alive inside the hearts and sould of those who loved us?

Sorry, I'm not wearing my glasses, Val,,, can't really see what I'm writing, but I know what I read and it was lovely...

    Goodnight, special lady!

  19. Hello Val

A beautiful tribute to your parents and loved ones who have departed.
In the west of Ireland, on retiring to bed, it was common to leave food and drinks on the table and to also keep the fire lit and the door unlocked. It was an invitation for our ancestors to return if they wished and the table and fire a symbol of our welcome. In the morning we would gather around the hearth and check see if we found any strange footsteps. Of course imaginations ran wild. I believe this traditions dates back to the Celts.

    Blessings on your home

    Helen xx
