Bits and bobs .

The sun is out and its getting warmer.   I have just been messing around with bits and bobs in the garden. I went to the garden centre with a friend during the week.   I didnt buy much..but just wanted to get some color.   Here are some pansies still to be planted.. they are in the wheelbarrow in the shade.
I love their colors.

Put the rest of the fertilizer on the new plants..
This pansy is just delightful . I think i want it closer to my cottage.
Testing out an old plant pot holder I found to see what size planter to buy when next at the D.I.Y.   This is where i will put my pansies. The geranium is doing very well.
My fucshia is getting so many blossoms.  it loves its place.
Bright color on the fence with mesamesthremums..wow! sure spelt that wrong. such a vibrant orange.  I think i might get some more.

A new little Fuschia planted.  I hope that it likes its new pot and will grow as my other has.  This one has a different flower.
Oranges from the big farm.. delivered to me - how am i going to get through all these.   !!! will be giving some to friends.

Snr. Ze Maria, brought me my olive oil this morning.  I am so delighted.  Olive oil for the rest of the year. The food and salads taste so different with fresh olive oil.

So am off out to do more bits and bobs.. after a nice ham sandwich and a cup of tea.

What have you been doing this lovely Sunday.

    1. Thanks Diane.. It is a different taste from the various varieties of bottled ones.. but you can get some good olive oil out there if you pay for it.

  7. Val,
You have such nice neighbors always thinking of you. If I lived close by, I could try some of those delicious oranges. Your mums are so pretty and vibrant with color. And they look very nice on your Header. Fresh olive oil! My husband would love some of that to cook with.

Have a great week ahead, Val. It's always nice coming over here and seeing what's going on at the Alentejo.

    love,

  8. I love pansies, with their sweet little faces. That olive oil must be special, not like what we buy in stores here. The oranges look like to die for. Happy gardening days to you, Val. Hope we have warm days ahead.

    1. Hello Sanda... I to just love the pansies.. I have to keep them in the shade here, as the sun now is getting warmer and they wither easily.

  9. That's the sort of day I love, Val. Just pottering around in the garden. Today I have been taking the pots of bullbs out of the garage and into the light. Some have started shooting already! I didn't get around to lifting them this summer, which is okay with some. I'm going to take the top layer of soil off and top up with fresh. We have started to have a little rain, so that will get them started.
Your seedlings and other plants are looking nice and fresh. Won't be long before everything is really growing fast.
    Lovely oranges!
    Happy days, Betty

  10. A bright and colourful post, Val. Loving the orange header, flowers and oranges! And of course, pansies, always :) Isn't that white one with the purple throat a winner?? Are you squeezing and juicing those fruits - very healthy, and you must make an orange cake too! xxx

  11. Oh how I adore olive oil and how lovely to grow your own olives. Your garden is coming along nicely Val. Ours is beginning to have a bit of colour now too. Pansies are one of my favourites, I just love seeing them bobbing about in the breeze. I still have a few geraniums flowering from last summer. We had quite a mild yet very wet winter and they obviously enjoyed the climate. They stood in pots just out in the open where we left them and such a bonus to see them still very healthy. Have a great week Val.

  19. Such beautiful flowers, Val! You're so lucky to be in such a temperate climate and be surrounded by such lovely color and greenery already. Is that Olive oil from your own trees? It must be delicious! We sat in the sun all afternoon on Sunday, enjoy the first warm day in many, many weeks. It was blissful! Wishing you a beautiful spring.
