Thursday snaps

Thursday morning.
walked around the garden, with the dogs and i was delighted to see some blooms. We really are experiencing an early spring. My roses are already getting new leaves and shoots. Its so dry here, that i now have started to water every day.
Just a few shots of around the place
To my surprise i found this rose hiding between the Oleander trees.. I was amazed.. its one that escaped my pruning.
I am no expert on names of bushes.. but this bush gives a tiny little light lilac flower, all the year round..

To add to my morning.. my son sent me this absolutely great photo of my youngest grandson Max. It speaks for itself. He is adorable and i love him to bits.. He turned 2 this month.

Happy Thursday everyone, from me and Max

  1. What a delightful little boy Max is - I hope he managed to get out of those wellington boots.
I used to have a couple of Oleanders, but sadly lost them one really severe winter.

  3. Dear Val, I love your first oleander bloom. Oleanders were part of my growing up, in Italy. They were everywhere, in the city. So many of them, you didn't notice how beautiful and scented they were.

One of the first things I did, when we bought the house in Italy, was to buy a beautilful red oleander which would be just "mine!" It's growing and becoming more beautiful every time I see it.

I can just imagine how lovely it must be, seeing the first signs of nature's rebirth on a large scale.

We have daffodils here, and my huge camelia (it's as big as a tree) will be covered in hundreds of red flowers, in the next couple of weeks!

Your grandchild is absolutely gorgeous. Like my oleander, he will grow up to be even more gorgeous than he is (if that's at all possible!)

    Abbracci carissimi

  11. Good Morning Val: First I must thank you for your very kind comments to me this morning. I always love hearing from you. Isn't it fun to see the buds popping up. My garden is a little slow, always, as we live on the downside of a hill and things seem to grow differently than just those on the other side of the street. Oh, Max is so darling. In those big wellies. I got Jake some when he was about that size. His are so small that I use them as a decoration on my back porch shelf. Great, great memories in the making...Judy at GoldCountryCottage

  12. Dear Judy,
What a lovely idea to keep the boots on your back porch.. !
Gardens are tricky. I have one side of my garden with too much clay and the other is soft and fine.. always a challenge. We have to find the right plants to adapt to the area.
    best wishes
thanks for your comments always appreciated
