TI have been very frustrated since late yesterday. I came home from a most lovely walk up in the hills near to my quinta.. I went with my dear friend Dita.. and we walked and talked and as we did, I took photos.
The reason that i am frustrated is. I lost half my post due to uploading with pic monkey.. it played up all day. So This post is not as I wanted it to be. However, I think I took some nice photos of our few hours walking up in the hills.
We came upon these lovely little baby lambs that had been born the day before yesterday and yesterday..they were so cute..jumping and playing around with each other. The little white one was just very happy all on its own soaking up the afternoon sun.
It was a warm day yesterday. Green all over. After walking for some time.we decided to turn back as the sun was going down.
The sun going down over the olive trees.
Sorry about some repeats here. It was so confusing .. Its this new camera. I have to learn how and where to store my photos.. and put the correct date on the camera.
This we thought a funny contraption.. one sat on it and the donkey pulled it and it thrashed the wheat
We stopped at a friends farm on the way home and I took these photos.. The old old house on the top right we cound hidden amongst the hills .. the track we walked.. some beautiful carriages that our friend has. The old brick building is said by the village folk to be haunted.. no one goes up there!
This was the last photo of the late afternoon around 6 or so.. its a little chapel that only opens maybe once a year.
I took some great photos of the fields yesterday morning.. maybe i will post them at another time.
I seem to be behind with my posts dear friends. but I have been rather busy over this last week.
Wishing you all a best wishes and cosy nights.
Thank you for all your kind comments that you leave on my posts.
I love your walk - the animals and the sunset going down over the Olive trees. You will get used to your camera. At first I thought that was an electric chair. I never would have guessed it's use! Have a good day. sandie
ReplyDeleteI had to smile to myself Sandie, when you wrote that the contraption looks like an electric chair.. as soon as I saw it.. I though something similiar.. what in heaven is this contraption.. It looks like something from the mideavel times.. Its just a collectors piece now..but strange.
DeleteHello Val
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful walk. The photos of the lambs are so beautiful, the light and shadow is perfect.
I am curious about lambs being born at this time, usually it is Spring time - late Feb/Mar in Ireland.
Getting used to new technology is always challenging
Helen xx
I enjoyed my walk so much. I dont like to walk up in the hills alone. We had a good afternoon. the lambs were so cute Helen.
DeleteLambing is twice a year year.. Easter and christmas time.
Blogger or me something went wrong yesterday.
nice to see you Helen.. x
Always enjoy reading your posts Val. How annoying to lose half of it though. It can take up quite a bit of time I find, to write and put photos on. They seem to take forever. Those little lambs are so cute and I love the picture of your village. Have a good evening.
ReplyDeletePatricia x
Hello Patricia.. I am pleased that you enjoyed this post. It didnt turn out as i wanted. I worked on it for about 5 hours.. i was a little frustrated. Indeed sometimes takes forever.
Deletethanks for passing by and leaving your comments..

Val, Thanks for the walk around your hills, they are so beautiful, I love the view. The chapel is so lovely. Everything was so interesting. Have a nice day today.
ReplyDeleteSylvia@agrandmasblessings
Thank you Sylivia.. It was another lovely day
Deletehello Val:
ReplyDeleteWe always seem to be having trouble with our photographs, and we never attempt anything as adventurous as you, so we can heartily sympathise. However, the final photograph is an absolute gem. It really does draw one in and it has a wonderfully warm glow about it. One can easily imagine the worshippers who have entered here over the decades. Lovely!
This all looks to have been a glorious walk with such beauty in the countryside. The lambs are adorable and, as the sun sets, the whole scene takes on a wonderful golden glow!
I do believe that its me. or maybe 50 50.. I thought i had all my pics prepared..then somehow..when i was uploading, some dissapeared. very annoying.
DeleteThe chapel is old I have only been in once..its actually very eerie.
thank you Jane and Lance
Hi Val,
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely post.
I really enjoyed your walk and your photos and especially the sunset one.
The lambs are lovely too.

Dear Val - sorry to hear that you have been experiencing some problems with picmonkey. I do hope that you did not lose them altogether. Do you keep your pictures in iPhotos?
ReplyDeleteThe picture of your village from the hills is wonderful, it almost has a 3D quality to it.
Dear Rosemary,
DeleteThank you for your concern.. i was rather frustrated. I think its also me.. 50 50... when i upload the images from my new camera.. the format is different than my old one.. i have to learn where to keep them. so i am making new files.
The village from atop the hills looks so lovely
glad you enjoyed the walk and the lambs, but sad you were frustrated with the post and photo load! the chapel is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI was upset with my post. I decided to post it anyway.. but i had worked so hard on it.
DeleteThe chapel is very very old , eerie inside thank you Tex
Hello Val ,
ReplyDeleteIt seems that you had a lovely walk to the countryside !The view from the hill to your village it is like a jewellery !! I want to ask you something ..In your collage at the main photo is an old machine ? or something like this ... What they used this ?
Have a nice day
Olympia
Hello dear Olympia.
Deletethe strange "machine" is a wheat thrasher.. the farmer would sit on it and the donkey would walk around over the wheat to thrash it ..thats all i know about it.. I think it might have been made by the farmer many many years ago.. i have never seen one before.
xx
Your photos are as gorgeous as ever, Val. LOVE the little lambs. What a beautiful walk. Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Marcia
Thank you Marcia,

The little lambs are so very cute, and I always love a sweet church picture. Having trouble posting photos down here today too. Maybe it is caused by the total eclipse which occured in North Queensland today? Only wondering ..
ReplyDeleteThank you Patricia.
DeleteIt well could be something to do with the eclipse and the atmosphere.
thank you for your comments.
val
Every time I reply to your lovely comments on News From Italy, I get a failure notice to say message cannot be delivered. Did you know about this problem Val?
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed taking a walk with you, such an interesting old thrasher, a beautiful evening photo of the chapel and black lambs rarely seen.
Dear Lindy.
ReplyDeleteI have not had anyone who has had problems leaving their comments... I am wondering if its from your side. This one has come through.
Maybe if you could tell me how you send your comments..!! i might be able to help.
Thank you for your kind comments left today.
Val
Hi Val. How are you doing? I have missed you. I hope all is well. Your pictures are very nice. I love the little lamb soaking up the sun. He looks so comfortable and warm.
ReplyDeleteHi lisa.
DeleteNice to see you. The little lambs are so so sweet.
Dear Val, Love the very last photograph. So inviting and warm.
ReplyDeleteDid you lose some of your photographs, or did you also lose part of your written material? Why not send an e-mail to PicMonkey. Tell them about your experience, they might have an answer. I have uploaded hundreds of photographs to PicMonkey and not lost even one.
Hello Gina,
DeleteNo i didn't loose my photos.. pick monkey didnt save my collages i made and they appeared blank.. it could possibly be me.. i havent had any problems before..but yesterday i did..
All my photos are stored.. but i need to divide the photos now into different catagories.
my photo storage has thousands of photos..
Thanks Gina.. I will give it another try.
Dear Val,
ReplyDeleteI used to store my photos on Picasa but the computer has gone mad and I seem to have lost half my photos and now I can't even get to see them! The computer will need to go in to be checked as the guy in the computer shop said he thought he could repair it - I hope so. In the meantime though hte OH needs the computer so I'll have to wait until next week. How sweet those lambs are.
June

So sorry you lost your collage on Pic monkey it can be so frustrating after you have spent so much time on them. Your pictures do however still look so good and I enjoyed the walk through the Portuguese countryside. We have lambs in the fields too at the moment. Your picture of the sun going down over by olive trees was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSarah x
Oh..Anna, can you imagine.. I was just about to send you a message.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you. I am not sure if you are in Italy or Uk..wherever..send you big hugs.
Where I live, cannot be much different than the countryside in Italy..maybe some different trees and of course the culture.
Our village is very sleepy. Sometimes you would think no one lives here.
wishing you a happy evening too Anna.

Sorry you had picture problems, but you post was full of great photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol.
DeleteI think possibly it was 50 50..
I have been frustrated with my new lap top so I'm back on the desk top tonight...it's always something isn't it? Your photos are wonderful and the baby lambs are just the cutest! Makes you want to take one home for a pet!
ReplyDeleteI would like to get myself another lap top.. to take around with me.. but i dont like using them as much as the desk top. Habit I suppose
Deletethanks Lavender Dreamer.
I do enjoy to walk "with you"! Lovely that last photo.

Your pictures are beautiful and the walk looks like it was a good one. Thanks for the comment you left on my last post. I am taking your advice and telling my Family Doctor.
ReplyDeleteThe little baby lambs are so sweet, Val. I would have loved to seen them. And the Chapel is beautiful. The sun is shining so bright on the picture of the olive trees, how special. It looks like you went on a peaceful country walk, Val. So sorry you lost some of your pictures - it can be very frustrating.

My laptop is broken but, luckily, whenever I download pictures I also burn them to a DVD disk. I like your little lambs – they really look sweet. Your village resembles some villages in Greece – every house with the same roofs – it really looks charming. In France it is the same, some areas have red roofs, some like in Brittany have grey roofs in the villages. Here in the US there is very little city planning, so people can have any roof they like, or any architecture for that matter – a huge McMansion near a tiny bungalow near a Cape Cod near a Plantation type (I see them all on my road.) In Croatia we saw houses that had been in a village for hundreds of years – here they tear them down and build new ones – different cultures. I wrote a post about that a while back – when I saw that a historical house (the setting for a Scott Fitzgerald story) was being demolished to make place for new houses for rich people (here is the post: http://avagabonde.blogspot.com/2012/02/why-long-island-new-york.html )
