My project and things

I woke to very light drip drop of rain this morning. Our temperature has dropped.  How we needed it. We were in a very very hot heatwave. Its been a lovely day today.  Shilah and Pascoa were moved to the fields on the right hand side of Rose cottage.  The other pasture is just about bare now.  They are in their element. all nice new pastures for them .  I am sure that they too are enjoying the drop in the temp.

My patio is looking better, work in progress.  I enjoy sitting out there , its especially great of an evening when the cool breeze of the evening comes along.

preparing for a painting day tomorrow. must get my projects finished.

The cupboard is finished and the little chairs also.  just a couple of things to add. flowers on the little red chairs.. and handles on the cupboard.  I am really happy with the green I mixed it came out nicely against the red.
Isaa having a good look at it all
My DIL, gave me this lovely cabinet. I dont have space for it in Olive Cottage.. so its now part of the patio furniture and I am using it for all my artwork paints .Everything in one place.
I was lucky to pick these little pink wedding roses. (thats what i call them)..they dry very quickly with the heat we have. They are on the re painted cupboard.
I hung up one of my paintings from some years ago.. so the cottage wall is not so bare.

Dear blogging friends.

for some reason.  It seems I have two blogs now.   I have tried to delete the new one I started, when i lost this one..  valrosa59blogspot.  I AM NOT USING THAT ADDRESS.

It was all working so well ..and for some unknown reason.. i lost all your comments..  but i thank you all for the kind comments you left on my last post.

wishing you all a Happy weekend.

  1. Val, you are so talented with your paintings and the repainted furniture, which are all really beautiful, as are your flowers. I'm glad the temperature has dropped for you and the rain will have done your garden good.

I'm puzzled to see your valrosa59 blog showing again as I thought it had been deleted. Still, the main thing is that everyone knows that this is the blog you are posting on and this is the one people will be following.

  2. Absolutely wonderful job you have made of the painting Val - the chairs and chest look stunning.
We are still suffering with the heat too, and desperate for rain.
To delete your other blog Val - go into the blog you do not want. Go to dashboard then Settings. In Settings you will find Other go into that - it will then say Blog Tools - Import blog - Export blog - Delete blog. Press Delete blog, it will probably say are you sure, I do not know because I have never done it, but it will want you to confirm that you do want to delete it.
    Good luck.
I think you would be better off without it as some people are still confused by your two blogs which sound similar.

    1. I deleted a blog once, Val, and it takes a full 3 months before it disappears altogether, so you just need to be patient.

Enjoy your painting tomorrow. I will be making jam. :-)

  5. Dear Val, we are in sync! I also awoke to light rain this morning. It has rained a lot this winter which is most unusual as our winters are normally very dry. At least the grass is nice and green. The green cupboard and red chairs look stunning, and very professional. You must be very happy with them, and your patio area looks so inviting, cool and comfortable. I'm glad the heat has dropped off, as it can be so exhausting. Great flower painting, as always! love from Australia XXX

  7. Val, I would love to join you on your patio, it looks the perfect place to relax and be comfortable - I think that even I could be tempted to get out my paintbrushes and canvases if I had somewhere as lovely. The cupboard and chairs look great, I would happily give them house room. It is always a pleasure to see Pascoa and Shilah, and your roses - I feel as though I have had a mini-break in Portugal. Refreshed and ready to face my day. I hope the rest of your weekend is a good one. x

  8. Oh Val, the chest and the chairs are charming--you did a great job with them. I have such a weakness for painted furniture but haven't been happy with the pieces I've done myself. Maybe I'll try again.

The cabinet from your dil is lovely--I've never seen one like it, and your flowers and painting are beautiful.

Gorgeous horse. Rose Cottage? Olive Cottage? Sounds like heaven.

I hope this is not to forward of me....but I would love to get to know you a little more personally. My email address is on my blog if you just scroll down a bit. Not trying to intrude...but I do meet so many nice people in blogging and some of them I just seem to connect with.
