A relaxing Sunday

My morning started as usual.  This time though, I could water away, until my hearts content. It was just wonderful to be able to get more water to the withering flowers.   While walking around with the house pipe.. poor "Freddy" was looking at me, as if to say "Why dont I have a plant in my pot".. finished the watering , went back into the house to get the clippers .. and filled his little vase full of lovely oleander blooms. They pretty much from the end of spring through to Autumn.  To me it seemed he had a smile on his face.   Then i decided that it was time i caught up with my happenings in my daily diary.. although its much better to write what happened that day.  I sometimes dont get around to it.
                                                 Freddy
I cut some beautiful roses.. that are the hardier kind and decided to get my green table and sit under the pergola.
Went in to get my diary,  some ideas for new painting projects. smaller water colours.
There was a light breeze coming through and the day was just perefect.
Even the sun was smiling and saying hello.  38º just perfect.
Inside to put my costume on.. This is where i was.. in and out..
Isaa, looking at me - as if to say "mummy what are you doing"
Isaa and Jeffrey.. Its a hard life mummy..you are wet.
My elusive Hardy. I am so thrilled with this photo.. I took it from the pool. He won't come near me.. thinks i might put him in..but  i dont.. he fell in once as a baby, and dont think he ever forgot it. Jeffrey is his daddy and Isaa is his mummy.
Ok.. thats enough mummy.. leave me alone.
If you look carefully on my table.. there is a glass-- "I will leave it to your imagination as to what was in it."-  It sure was a happy sunday with my wonderful companions.

Hope you all had a great weekend.

val..

  6. I have tried water color but having started with oils and acrylic, I am addicted to using white so I usually end up mixing gouache with WC and sometimes going back over the highlights with pastels, it turns into a real mixed media by the time I finish. But they have sold but I admire people who can paint in WC.

    1. I started with oils, and feel happy using them. Acrylic i just cant seem to master.
most of my art is in oil. I started water colour only a couple of years ago.
I went on a workshop to England last year.. It was such fun and so rewarding.
Nice to know you paint. I like the sound of gouache.. with pastels.
      Maybe you can share sometime..

  10. Oh Val, if I had a pool, that is where I would be sitting. It is so hot here in Texas. My poor roses just can't take that much heat. I mixed a few artificial flowers with a nice ivy plant, just to give my porch some color.

  11. So pleased that you have got your water back on tap Val. It makes life so difficult when you can't keep the plants watered - nobody wants to loose their flowers and plants especially when you have gone to all the bother of buying, planting, and caring for them.
Your little dogs are sweet, and I can see that they adore you too.

    1. I cannot tell you the relief of having the well working again.. i have been going 'mad' watering everything as much as i can.. cant go too wild.. otherwise i will have no water in the well.
My dogs are my most faithful companions Rosemary. Every time I have to go somewhere... they know and I miss them.
Thank you for coming over to see me..

  17. It sounds as if you had a wonderful time with your four-legged friends, your garden and pergola! Thank goodness you have swimming pool to cool down from the temperatures of 38-40C!
It is raining here today and I am so thankful! City heat is just terrible and it's been humid too - no air-conditioning here or a pool to cool down - just the blinds to let down and an electric fan that blows the air around!
I'm really looking forward to September and October with the lovely lighting and gorgeously cooler temperatures!

  22. I have looked at your past posts – you have beautiful flowers and lovely furniture. What an exciting time for you with your son’s wedding coming up – he is quite handsome as well as his fiancée. I love your rose picture in your heading – so delicate and perfect. The foliage looks good too – here in the South we have problems with disease and fungus so I don’t have many roses anymore – I used to have 150 rose bushes, long ago.

  23. Sounds like a lovely relaxing day Val. Your photos are so full of colour and the pool so blue. Hope the garden is surviving the heat. It's a constant job with watering and attending to plants in such heat.
I quite enjoy watering the garden. It gives me time to think as well as enjoy the plants. Hope you have a good week.
