My morning started as usual. This time though, I could water away, until my hearts content. It was just wonderful to be able to get more water to the withering flowers. While walking around with the house pipe.. poor "Freddy" was looking at me, as if to say "Why dont I have a plant in my pot".. finished the watering , went back into the house to get the clippers .. and filled his little vase full of lovely oleander blooms. They pretty much from the end of spring through to Autumn. To me it seemed he had a smile on his face. Then i decided that it was time i caught up with my happenings in my daily diary.. although its much better to write what happened that day. I sometimes dont get around to it.
FreddyI cut some beautiful roses.. that are the hardier kind and decided to get my green table and sit under the pergola.
Went in to get my diary, some ideas for new painting projects. smaller water colours.
There was a light breeze coming through and the day was just perefect.
Even the sun was smiling and saying hello. 38º just perfect.
Inside to put my costume on.. This is where i was.. in and out..
Isaa, looking at me - as if to say "mummy what are you doing"
Isaa and Jeffrey.. Its a hard life mummy..you are wet.
My elusive Hardy. I am so thrilled with this photo.. I took it from the pool. He won't come near me.. thinks i might put him in..but i dont.. he fell in once as a baby, and dont think he ever forgot it. Jeffrey is his daddy and Isaa is his mummy.
Ok.. thats enough mummy.. leave me alone.
If you look carefully on my table.. there is a glass-- "I will leave it to your imagination as to what was in it."- It sure was a happy sunday with my wonderful companions.
Hope you all had a great weekend.
val..
cute little pups! love those roses, too.
ReplyDeleteThey are not pups.. they are fully grown, but small.
DeleteI have always had big dogs. But ended up with this little family.
thanks Tex..
It was a day that i gave to myself.. loved it.
It looks like you enjoy your days!! As you should. Very cute photo's. Groetjes, Gerda
ReplyDeleteDanke Gerda.
DeleteYesterday was special. As I didnt do anything..just took the day for myself.. apart from the photos .. it was lovely
I love all your little pups - and is that a swimming pool? You have to have that for the heat there! sandie
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandie.. Yes, its my swimming pool. I have always had a pool.. was brought up with them. All my children have them too.. it gets very hot here .. and we need it.
ReplyDeleteBut therre is a nice breeze today.
Your dogs are adorable. Love your roses on the outdoor table, and the pool. Paradise!
ReplyDeleteI am always working to make it as nice as i like it..but dont take "my time".. thats what i did yesterday.. Thanks Jen
DeleteI have tried water color but having started with oils and acrylic, I am addicted to using white so I usually end up mixing gouache with WC and sometimes going back over the highlights with pastels, it turns into a real mixed media by the time I finish. But they have sold but I admire people who can paint in WC.
ReplyDeleteI started with oils, and feel happy using them. Acrylic i just cant seem to master.
Deletemost of my art is in oil. I started water colour only a couple of years ago.
I went on a workshop to England last year.. It was such fun and so rewarding.
Nice to know you paint. I like the sound of gouache.. with pastels.
Maybe you can share sometime..
val
Awww your dear doggie's are true companions, Dear Val...and your day looks simply stunning! ~ your pictures always remnid me of a wonderful, wonderful holiday! ~ thank you for your kind comment on mine, I knew you would understand as you always see the magic in all things! Happy new week, lovely YOU! Hugs Maria x
ReplyDeleteHello Maria.
DeleteI am lucky , i suppose.. I live in a little paradise.. but really am always working , here and there, or painting or cleaning.. garden etc.,.. so i decided to have a me day.. it was so so magical.. not a thought in my mind.. just me and my babies.
Yes, I do understand. Magic is the secret to life ..xxxxx
What a great post. Your little companions are just too cute. Such a relaxing day.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sylvia,
DeleteI do believe we need time just for ourselves.. i had a lovely special day ..with me and my babies.. great companions.
Sangria? Dubonet? Surely not a plain Cola!?
ReplyDeleteYour pool looks so inviting!
You are right..not just plain cola..!!! a little W mix. It was a lovely "my day"
DeleteThe water at the moment , is like silk on the skin. welcome to join me.
Oh Val, if I had a pool, that is where I would be sitting. It is so hot here in Texas. My poor roses just can't take that much heat. I mixed a few artificial flowers with a nice ivy plant, just to give my porch some color.
ReplyDeleteWell Meggie, You will have to come and join me sometime.
DeleteTexas is hot like it is here. Its 10.33pm... I have just finished watering the roses.
they are drying up.. but mywater is back to normal again..
I too use artificial flowers to give a little flair..
thank you Meggie.
happy week val
So pleased that you have got your water back on tap Val. It makes life so difficult when you can't keep the plants watered - nobody wants to loose their flowers and plants especially when you have gone to all the bother of buying, planting, and caring for them.
ReplyDeleteYour little dogs are sweet, and I can see that they adore you too.
I cannot tell you the relief of having the well working again.. i have been going 'mad' watering everything as much as i can.. cant go too wild.. otherwise i will have no water in the well.
DeleteMy dogs are my most faithful companions Rosemary. Every time I have to go somewhere... they know and I miss them.
Thank you for coming over to see me..
val
You have such darling doggies! They really make our lives complete, don't they? Pretty photos, Val. Maybe red wine?
ReplyDeleteThank you Sanda,
DeleteI dont know what i would do without my doggies.. I cannot understand people who are cruel to animals .
No..not red wine.. C & W first time in over 12 years.
What a lovely relaxing day by the pool, with those fabulous pink roses, and your dear doggie companions running about. They are the cutest guys! If you were in Australia there would be rum in that cola! xx
ReplyDeleteHello Patricia..
ReplyDeleteI really treated myself on Sunday. Just relaxed, I also enjoyed watering the flowers again , as ihave the water flowing again.
My doggies are my best companions. They love it when i am relaxing. They lie next to me and enjoy the day too. Well. If i had have had the Rum in..it sure would have been that... but I only had the W stuff.. and I havent drank it for over 12 years.. so I tried it again.. It was perfect.
Thanks for your comments patricia.. always nice to see you from Down Under.
Hi Val
ReplyDeleteI am in seriously envious of all that sunshine and especially your roses. I only have one Camellia bush flowering at present as we are in the depths of winter here in Australia. Enjoy the warmth. Shell
hello Shell,
DeleteWhen its summer here, its winter there. Must get in as many days relaxing as i can..i am always on the go.
sending you some sunshine to down under Shell.. x
Hello, Val. I'm so glad you enjoyed your Sunday. It looked like the weather was just beautiful and little Hardy looks so sweet. Your roses are still beautiful. A very happy sounding post, my friend..Happy Tuesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteI had a wonderful Sunday, the best in a long time.. on my own with my doggies.
DeleteThank you Judy.
It sounds as if you had a wonderful time with your four-legged friends, your garden and pergola! Thank goodness you have swimming pool to cool down from the temperatures of 38-40C!
ReplyDeleteIt is raining here today and I am so thankful! City heat is just terrible and it's been humid too - no air-conditioning here or a pool to cool down - just the blinds to let down and an electric fan that blows the air around!
I'm really looking forward to September and October with the lovely lighting and gorgeously cooler temperatures!
I have promised myself more relaxing time.. I am always on the go.
DeleteThe heat in the sity can be humid..but here its dry.
thank you for your comments Sandra
Val, aren't your roses pretty? The color is very nice. I always enjoy seeing pictures of your home and outside. Your doggy is sweet. Give him a hug from Sheri.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday, Val.
Love,
~Sheri

It is nice to start your Sunday watered your flowers !They need it at these hot days ! I am glad that you had a wonderful day !
ReplyDeleteHi Val. Thanks for coming over to visit me. I have enjoyed my return visit! What a wonderful place to live! Such beautiful flowers too! I think your little companions look so loving....it's funny about the baby watching you from under the recliner! I think I will become a follower so that I can find you again! Joan
ReplyDeleteI have looked at your past posts – you have beautiful flowers and lovely furniture. What an exciting time for you with your son’s wedding coming up – he is quite handsome as well as his fiancée. I love your rose picture in your heading – so delicate and perfect. The foliage looks good too – here in the South we have problems with disease and fungus so I don’t have many roses anymore – I used to have 150 rose bushes, long ago.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely relaxing day Val. Your photos are so full of colour and the pool so blue. Hope the garden is surviving the heat. It's a constant job with watering and attending to plants in such heat.
ReplyDeleteI quite enjoy watering the garden. It gives me time to think as well as enjoy the plants. Hope you have a good week.
Betty
