country fair/birthday

Susana and hubby- I have known Susana since she was a young girl. Full of life and always happy.  Our family have watched her grow into a lovely beautiful young woman.  Happily married with two wonderful little boys.  She is the eldest daughter of my friend Dita.
Lots of balloons and lovely decorations.
Yesterday was a  very happy day for me and my very close friends.    After a big family lunch to celebrate Susana's birthday.   We all went to the country fair.
Sheep bells, cow bells, ornimental bells.
Chestnuts cooking on the open fire...

                                                         The carousel
Restaurants and quiosks preparing for dinner.
Most of us had a fun ride with the children on the carousel.
Traditional  "ginga" cherry wine -served in little chocolate cups. so delicious we all had it twice.. The cherry wine and the chocolate, just melt in your mouth.    I haven't been to our annual fair in some years.  I really did enjoy it, as did the rest of my friends.   Music playing , folk singing.

Susana's Birthday cake..-  miss  Betty Boob. Divine chocolate cake with strawberry filling..
Setting the tables for the birthday lunch.. so much food.
As we were leaving.  I stopped at this slipper stall.    2 pairs for 5 euros.   Bought two fluffy pairs .   Our weather is changing, keep my feet nice and warm.

We walked around all the stalls , so much to see .   It was a fun November sunday.

Hope that you all had a very happy weekend dear friends.

wishing you all a good week.
                                                                     VAL

  9. Val, what fun and Happy Birthday to pretty Susana. I love the roasting chestnuts. We have them at the Christmas Fair every year. An old fashioned tub over the fire roasting the chestnuts, a man dressed up in Victorian garb handing them out and sitting around the open fire eating them. Makes it all so special..Happy Tuesday..Judy
