Green day 18 @ val's Alentejo. linking with Fiona@ Raindrops and Daisies

Friday October the 19th.   Here at Val's Alentejo, its been raining non stop for 3 days.  The rain, has been most welcome.  Our dam's were becoming pretty empty.   A respite this morning.. but the rain clouds are forming once again.

I took these photos early this morning when the sun was trying to peep through the heavy skies.

The pink bush is laden down with the rain.. the oleander leaves are heavy and droopy, you can just make out the rain drops on the leaves.

I love my "tin" flower holder.. This arrangements sits on top of one of my cabinets...pink roses with green leaves.

My summer lemon juice pottery vase.  I have it full of branches of bay leaves and rosemary. Drying out for use in the kitchen.

Wishing you all a happy Friday..
Think of positive things.
Dream a while
enjoy your coffee or tea.

Dear Fiona's little cat passed away.. she is sad today.

  3. Lovely collage Val, the blue contrasts nicely with the foliage. I think that we enjoy the good days more after a few bad days, the sun and sky seem brighter. Every cloud has a silver lining.

  22. It must be wonderful to have rain after weeks of hot,dry weather - not that we often get weeks of hot, dry weather in the UK so it isn't an experience I've had very often:)

  24. I love vases with branches of herbs - I often use herbs as decoration for the table when we have guests. Whenever we visit a place in the south and find a bay bush we take some with us and dry them at home. When I make a dish in wintertime and I then use one of the bay leaves, we always say that there is a little bit of summer in the dish... I how you compiled the photos - really sophisticated and very advanced! Fantastic! Christa

  26. So sorry to hear about Fiona's cat. I'll pay her a visit.
Your collage is gorgeous, Val. How wonderful to have your own fresh herbs. I tried it one year and it was so much fun, but here in So. Florida everything scorches under the sun unless you're a really patient and dedicated gardener...and I'm not. ;)
Thank you for the positive closing words. Same to you, my friend.
